If I am unable to attend or late for my scheduled appointment, do I have to
reschedule my appointment?
Yes. If you are unable to attend the scheduled appointment you will have to
reschedule or to make a new appointment by visiting our website

Do I have to submit my application personally, or can another person do it for
me?
You must show up at the Embassy when submitting your application. You are
welcome to let a third person pick up the passport with the visa inserted, but
the person must have a power of attorney.
Can you send me the application forms by mail or fax?
The application and the supplementary forms can be downloaded from the
Embassy's website. We can exceptionally send by mail but you will need to send
us your address. However the Embassy must receive original, signed application
forms. Note it is not possible to submit applications by fax or e-mail.
Will you offer any assistance to applicants in completing the application forms?
We cannot assist with the completion of the application forms, as it is up to
the applicants to give answers to the questions on the application form.
Can I fill in my application in a language other than English or Danish?
No. Only applications made in English or Danish will be accepted.
Can the supplementary documentation be in a language other than English or
Danish?
Yes, but only original supplementary documentation together with a translation
into English or Danish will be accepted.
Should I bring an original copy of the invitation letter when I submit my
application?
You should always bring the original letter of invitation. Please note that
invitations are not valid without a signature.
Should I bring a new photo with me?
Yes, you must supply a colour photo, not older than three months, with
dimensions of 35mm x 45mm with the face measuring 30-36 mm from the point of
the chin to the top of the head. The photo should be taken with the face
straight in front, see the link to the detailed rules here.
I am a regular visitor to Denmark. Will I have to provide with all documentation
each time I apply?
Yes. Every time you apply for a Danish visa you must supply with recent
supplementary documentation.
If I travel with a child, should I fill in a separate form for the child?
Yes. In all circumstances, whether or not the child has his/her own passport.
Please note if your child is registered in your passport, the Passport Office
must affix his/her photo in your passport.
How long will I need to wait for a decision on my application?
When applying for a visa you get a receipt and an indication of when you can
expect to receive an answer to your application. You should expect 10 days. You
are advised to call the Embassy only after the expiry of this period.
If my application has been sent to the Danish Immigration Service, will you
notify me when you receive an answer from them?
Yes. You don't need to call the Embassy yourself and ask whether or not an
answer has been received.
Can the Embassy forward my passport to me once a visa has been issued?
No. The Embassy cannot take responsibility for the forwarding of any personal
documents, passports included. If you cannot return to the Embassy yourself, we
advise you to seek assistance of a messenger with power of attorney from you.
Should I buy my medical insurance before my visa is issued?
Yes. You must show a proof of a valid Medical Travel Insurance for the entire
period of expected stay in the Schengen area
Should I buy travel tickets before my visa is issued?
No. Wait until the Embassy confirms that a visa has been granted. Something
unexpected might arise that obstructs or prolongs the handling of the
application.
Do I get my fee refunded in case of visa refusal?
No. The application fee covers the handling of the application, regardless of
the final result.
